Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Looking back on the preliminary exercise we did at the beginning of the year, its clear to see that i have progress greatly not only as a personal progress but we have also progressed as group tooThe continuity aspect of the task has clearly been used in the making of our project, more specifically when the student walks in the classroom. The scene where the boy walks in our preliminary project helped us a great deal in filming this specific shot. This is something we have gotten better at since filming both clips, as at first we struggled the most at this specific task.

We also learnt how to use the 180 degree rule. During our film we never broke the fourth wall, because we learnt that this would make for bad footage. This shot to the left is where the 180 degree rule is being followed.

Over the shoulder shot is another technique used in our preliminary project, and transferred the skills into our two minute video.

Our video also features shot-reverse-shot, during the homeless man and the protagonist. This clearly shows how we have used a wide variety of shots and editing techniques to make our project look professionally made, by a company like WarnerBrothers.

Unlike our preliminary video, the two minute film features low and high angle shots that portray the characters in a certain way. We showed the main protagonist in a low angle to make him appear dominant and appeal to the Carl Rodgers Ideal self. Compared to the homeless man where we placed him in a high angle shot to portray his subordinate character.
