5 How did you
attract/address your audience?
Do you think you
have reached your target audience?
The target
audience for our film are mostly males aged between 12 and 30 years old, the
main character in our film is young and therefore younger people would be more
interested in it as they can relate to him. The age certification of our film
means that is not for people younger than 12 as the film has some violence and
some strong language which isn’t appropriate for kids. We made the language in
our film suited to attract a younger audience; older people may not understand
some of the dialogue and may not be able to relate the characters in the film.
Our audience would also have to have an interest in action/thrillers, so they
would be familiar with the genre and enjoy going to the cinemas because the
distribution of our film would mostly be at the cinemas.
The setting of our film at the beginning is
clearly at a college, we thought this would be a good place to film because
many of our target audience would be able to relate to it or be familiar with
it.
The sound we
used in the film was very modern as we used an electronic sounding bass which
again will appeal to younger people as that music is very popular with younger
people today.
The clothing we used in the film helped us
create a sense of realism as everyone is dressed stereotypically to suit their
character.
What was less
successful?
Some of the
camera shots in the film were less successful because we didn’t use some of the
shots we planned to, which made it hard for some people to follow the story.
How could the work
be improved?
The work
that could have been improved was the narrative as it was not clear and some
people found it hard to follow, we could have developed the plot more to make
it easier for people to follow.
