Sound:
Sound of the sea creates a sense of atmosphere and location.
diegetic sound of guns creates a sense of realism and action
diegetic sound of train suggests the speed en which it is travelling at.
diegetic background sound of the crowd suggest there is something bad happening or about to happen.
music:pace and texture of music creates a sense of danger and makes the scene tense, when the music gets louder and the texture gets thicker it becomes more and more dramatic. in some scenes the music is tense but very faint in the background creating effective subliminal tension.
Camera work and Cinematography:
shaking of the camera creates tension and implies destruction to the scene.
mid-shot establishes room, characters and how they are being treated.
close up shots are used to show the condition the characters are in and this also help to emphasise their facial expressions.
Long shots establish chaos in the streets; this may also adhere to the tension.
the use of a hand held camera makes it feel like you are in the room walking with the characters.
a crane is used to create a smooth but fast lifting transitions to make the viewer feel more comfortable.
Editing: slow motion is used to make the scenes more dramatic and help take in more information, it also changes the viewers sense of time.
a sound bridge and a cut is used as a passage of time which makes the scene disorientating.
different diegetic sounds are used to create atmosphere for example the mob of people and the crashing of waves.
shot reverse shots are used to represent conversation and show continuity.
explosions and explosion sounds are added in to create more tension and make the scene s dramatic.
