First 15 mins of similar film - Reservoir dogs

Reservoir dogs- First 15 minutes

Mise en scene

At the start of the scene there is a table full of men having a conversation. All the characters are dressed in same black suit and tie apart from two people which may indicate that they are outsiders in the group. The fact that they are all dressed similar indicates there in some sort of group and organisation and two of them don't really belong there. All of them leave a tip apart from one of them which gives the audience an insight of the characters personality.

Editing

When they leave the café you can see all the characters clearly as its edited in slow motion to show how the characters differ and their characteristics. It also gives the audience an insight into their personalities.

Sound

The sound at the start of the film are non-diegetic sound such as plates, glasses and cutlery to establish where the scene is set, which is in a café. When they leave the café there is a slow tempo with upbeat music to emphasise the characters coolness and composure. The music matches the walk of the characters to show how the characters are composed.

Cinematography

In the opening scene they are all sat around a table and the camera shifts round the table to each character to give the audience an indication of the characters personalities and characteristics. For example, it shows that Harvey is the leader and has authority over the rest of the group and is very confident when speaking.
