Action/ thriller film research 4

RED

Storyline summary:
When his peaceful life is threatened by a high-tech assassin, former black-ops agent Frank Moses reassembles his old team in a last ditch effort to survive and uncover his assailants.

Characters: 
Frank Moses (Actor Bruce Willis) a former black-ops agent retired and living a quiet life in a Cleveland suburb. However, Frank feels lonely and often chats on the phone with Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker), a customer service agent who works for the GSA pension office in Kansas City. He creates opportunities to talk to her by tearing up his pension checks and calling her to say they had never arrived.
Mise-en-Scene: 

In the characters base Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), there are a number of random items giving the impression he might have some sort of mental problem; these help show his character. At the entrance of his base there is also a nuclear caution sign which may foreshadow events. This character has a gillie suit suggesting that he could be a hunter or just simply crazy.

Music: 


The music has a mysterious and Sci-Fi feel to it and links with the style of an agent or spy. This music links directly to the theme of the characters roles and back story so not only does the film tell a story but so does the music.

Iconography:
Gun are used throughout the film which has connotations with violence. Old cars suggest the age of the characters.Walking sticks also have connotations to age which one character uses.
